PRINCETON (11/9/09) -- Freshman Cassie Seguin of the women's hockey team has been named the GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week presented by Princeton Army ROTC for the week ending on Nov. 8.
Seguin recorded the first two wins and shutouts of her collegiate career as the women's hockey team ran its unbeaten streak to five games with wins at Yale and Brown. On Friday at Yale Seguin made 20 saves to earn her first collegiate win in a 4-0 Princeton win. On Saturday she stopped all 20 shots she faced on a 5-0 blanking of Brown. She also tallied an assist in Saturday's win.
Seguin has now played eight straight shutout periods and has a shutout streak of 163:16. She is 2-1-1 overall with a 1.64 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.
Seguin and the Tigers return to action next weekend with ECAC and Ivy League contests at Dartmouth and Harvard.
