Women's Water Polo Falls to Hartwick at Elite Six

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Princeton women's water polo team fell to Hartwick 8-6 on Saturday afternoon in the first of three games at this weekend Elite Six Invitational. Princeton led the game at the half, but Hartwick came from behind to win the game in the final half of action.
After the teams traded goals in the first quarter, Princeton built up a 4-3 lead at the half. Hartwick turned things around though coming out of halftime, outscoring Princeton 3-1 in the third period to take a lead that they extended in the final frame.
Junior Phoebe Champion scored twice to lead Princeton and freshman Kristen Ward made eight saves in goal. The loss drops Princeton to 7-2 on the season and the Tigers face Michigan and Hartwick tomorrow.
