Baseball Falls at Monmouth 12-3

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- Senior Dan DeGeorge had three hits, including a two-run homer, but the Princeton baseball team fell at Monmouth 12-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
Princeton fell behind 7-0 over the first three innings as Monmouth plated seven runs off of seven hits. Princeton's first run came in the fourth inning when DeGeorge led off the inning with a single and scored on junior Jack Murphy's sac fly.
DeGeorge then made it 8-3 in the sixth inning when he homered to left field. Sophomore Matt Connor, who walked to lead off the inning, scored on the homer. Monmouth added four runs over the seventh and eight for the 12-3 win.
Junior Ross Staine started the game and took the loss as he allowed four runs in two innings of worked. Princeton used five pitchers in the game, and each allowed at least one run.
The Tigers fell to 8-10 with the loss and return to action this weekend at Dartmouth and Harvard in Ivy League play.
