Two Tigers Qualify for Regionals at Larry Ellis Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/18/09) ? Junior Reilly Kiernan and senior Jessica Kloss of the Princeton women's track and field team qualified for the NCAA Regionals at the Larry Ellis Invitational held on the Princeton campus on April 17-18.
Kiernan qualified for the NCAA Regional in the steeplechase, giving a 10:38.75 in her first effort in the event this season. She will join teammate Ashley Higginson who qualified in the event last weekend.
Kloss qualified in the pole vault, clearing 3.85 meters, her best mark of the season.
Sophomore Emma Ruggiero took first in the hammer throw, throwing over a meter better than the second-place competitor. Ruggiero reached 52.91 meters, a personal best. Sophomore Thanithia Billings also posted a personal best in the event, reaching 42.54.
Also setting a personal best on the field was Bianca Williams in the triple jump. She finished in sixth place at 11.86 shattering her previous best of 11.79.
Freshman Eileen Moran was fourth in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 12.22, her best time of the season. She also put up a season-best time in the 200, with 25.07. Taking third in the 200, was senior Agatha Offorjebe, who crossed the tape at 24.39 for a new personal record.
Sophomore Brooke Russell won the 800-meter run, covering the track in 2:13.15 with teammate Alexe Smith coming in right behind here at 2:13.80.
The 4x100 relay team also posted a victory with a time of 47.70.
The Tigers will compete at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia next week.
