Hale Named Ivy Pitcher of the Week
April 28, 2009 | Baseball
Princeton junior David Hale was named the Ivy League Co-Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season. Hale had a career-high 10 strikeouts in a shutout win of Cornell in the opening game of last weekend's series.
Hale pitched 6.1 innings and only surrendered four hits in the win. Although he walked five batters in total, Hale kept the Big Red hitters off-balance and left with a 2-0 lead. Hale now is 2-3 overall with a 4.43 ERA. He has been named the league's Pitcher of the Week on two occasions.
Hale will be in right field tomorrow when the Tigers visit Cornell in a one-game Gehrig Division playoff game. The winner will advance to the Ivy League Championship Series this weekend at Dartmouth.
