PRINCETON, N.J. (5/11/09) ? Junior Liz Costello helped the Princeton women's track and field team win the 2009 Ivy League Championship, its first title in more than 10 years, knocking off the seven-time defending champion Cornell.
The Tigers gained a 15-point lead over the Big Red after Costello won the 3000-meter run in 9:45.36, with just two events remaining. She earned 10 points with the win while two teammates combined for an additional 10 points in the event. Costello earlier took second in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:27.46 giving Princeton eight points.
