Men's Track Hosts IC4A This Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/14/09) ? The Princeton men's track and field team hosts the 1C4A Championship this weekend, May 15-17 at Weaver Stadium.
A schedule of events, directions and more can be found on the official 2009 IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championship Web site.
Admission on Friday is free, while Saturday and Sunday are ticketed. A two-day ticket is $16 for adults and $8 for children, seniors and students. A one-day ticket for either Saturday or Sunday is $10 for adults and $5 for children, seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased at the Southeast corner of Princeton Stadium.
Lancing Timing will post the results on its web site at www.lancertiming.comSophomore George Abyad and junior Joel Karacozoff are declared in the discus throw, which will take place on Friday at 5:30 p.m. Abyad has already qualified for the NCAA Regional with a throw of 51.93 meters from a meet at the National Training Center, where Karacozoff also threw a season-bet 47.72 meters.
Freshmen Brian Leung, Donn Cabral and Joe Stilin, junior Ted Price and senior Cameron Marantz are declared in the 5,000-mter run. Marantz has the best time of the group this season, running a 14:28.63 at the Penn Relays.
Senior Alex Pessala, sophomore Craig Pearce and Karacozoff will take part in the hammer throw at 10 a.m., on Saturday. All three have qualified for the Regional with Pessala leading the way with Princeton record of 69.06 meters.
Following the hammer throw, the Tigers will run in the 4x100 relay at 10:30 a.m., with the 1500-meter run trials following at 10:50 a.m. Freshman Trevor Van Ackeren is slated to compete in the event. Ten minutes later, the pole vault will get underway with freshmen David Slovenski and Derek Hynes along with junior Chad Faulkner taking part. Slovenski has the best mark of the three, reaching 5.15 meters at the NTC Meet.
Senir Chris Vasich is declared for the 110-meter hurdles at 11:15 a.m., while junior Tom Zozokos and senior Ian Thomson are set to compete in the 400-meter hurdles at 12:35 p.m.
Between the hurdles, sophomore Mike Eddy and freshman Austin Hollimon will tackle the 400-meter dash at 12 p.m. Hollimon is also declared in the 200, which is one hour later.
The 4x800 and 4x400 trials will be run in succession at 1:20 and 1:45 p.m.
In shot put is scheduled for 10 a.m., on Sunday with junior Eric Plummer, freshman Patrick Park, senior Tim Lanni and Abyad taking part. Plummer has the best mark of the bunch, throwing to 17.60 meters last weekend at Heps.
