Current and Former Tigers Represent Princeton at USA Track & Field National Championship

EUGENE, Ore. (6/26/09) ? Two Princeton men's track and field athletes will compete at the USA Track & Field 2009 National Championships in Eugene, Ore., this weekend, June 26-28.
Senior Alex Pessala will take part in the men's hammer throw on Saturday, June 27 at 3:25 p.m. Pessala is seeded No. 10 in flight 2 of three thanks to his mark of 69.06 meters. The best eight marks will move on to the final.
Senior long distance runner, Michael Maag, will run in the men's 5000-meter run. He is seeded second in the section 1 with a season-best time of 13:41.17. David Nightingale '08 will also run in section 1 as the No. 6 seed with a season-best time of 13:42.87.
The race will be held on Friday, June 26 at 8:15 p.m. (PT).
Another former Tiger partaking in the Championship is Tora Harris '02 in the men's high jump. The event will be held Sunday, June 28.
On the junior side, freshman David Slovenki, Austin Hollimon and Nick Thomas will compete in three different events. Slovenski competed in the junior pole vault on Thursday, although the marks are currently unavailable. Hollimon will run the junior 400-meter dash with the first round scheduled for 2 p.m., on Saturday. Thomas will run the junior 1500-meter run with the first round slated for 1:20 p.m., on Saturday.
