Maida led Princeton to a 1-1 record last week as the Tigers split games with a pair of Top-10 ranked opponents. On Friday, Maida matched a career and season high with six saves in a 2-1 Princeton loss at Virginia. She made three saves in the second half to keep the Tigers within striking distance. After scoring to make the score 2-1 in the second half, Princeton could not find the equalizer.
Two days later, Maida recorded two saves to blank eighth-ranked Louisville at home for her third shutout of the season. Prior to the game, Louisville had scored at least two goals in each of its previous 14 games this season.
Maida now carries a 0.69 goals-against average on the season, the second best mark in Div. I. It is the second time this season Maida has earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors, having also done so on Sept. 21.
