PRINCETON (11/10/10) - Kathleen Sharkey led the way as the Princeton field hockey team placed nine of its members on All-Ivy teams. Sharkey was named the Ivy League Player of the Year. Sharkey is the 19th Ivy League Player of the Year to hail from Princeton and the sixth straight. In total 14 Tigers have won the award as five have won the title more than once.

Her 31 goals set a Princeton single-season record and she ranks third in both career goals and points at Princeton. In seven League games, Sharkey netted 17 goals and added an assist to lead the League with 35 points and she scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in five of Princeton's seven Ivy League victories. Sharkey finished the regular season with seven assists as well, giving her 69 points in 17 games played.
Sharkey was a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection in 2009, as well as being named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and a first-team All-Ivy selection in 2008,

Katie, the 2008 & 2009 Ivy League Player of the Year, earned her third straight unanimous selection to the All-Ivy first team, joining Sharkey as the 33rd and 34th Ivy players to earn three career selections to the All-Ivy first team. For Julia and Cesan, it marks their second straight first-team All-Ivy selection.
Though only able to appear in 13 games, Katie Reinprecht still managed to be Princeton's third leading scorer with 11 goals and four assists for 26 points. In four Ivy League games, she averaged better than two points per game by netting five goals and an assist for 11 points. Julia Reinprecht, the 2009 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, started all 17 of Princeton's regular season games and has been a catalyst for the Tiger offense while also helping to control the defensive side of the field as well. Her 12 assists lead the team, and her seven assists in Ivy play tied for the top mark.
Cesan finished the season with nine goals and two assists in seven Ivy games, Cesan was the conference's second leading scorer in 2010. Overall, the versatile Cesan finished with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points.
