Rider Claims 30-10 Wrestling Win Over Princeton
December 12, 2010 | Wrestling
Sophomore Garrett Frey and junior Daniel Kolodzik picked up victories Sunday afternoon for the Princeton wrestling team, but those wouldn't be enough for an undermanned Tiger squad in its final home match of the 2010 portion of the season.
Forced to forfeit matches at both 165 and 174, the latter because of an illness to freshman Ryan Callahan, Princeton was in a hole from the start of the match. Frey, ranked 11th nationally, helped dig Princeton out at the start with a first-period pin of Chuck Zeisloft, but Rider didn't let momentum stay. Three straight decisions, none by more than five points, went the Broncs way and all but clinched the team win.
Kolodzik was impressive in a 13-5 win over Frank Miele at 157, but following two forfeits, Rider won three straight decisions, again each by five points or fewer.
