Dec. 2 TigerCast: Kristen Holmes-Winn, Meredith Monroe And Colin Cordes
December 02, 2010 | Field Hockey, General, Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving
Princeton field hockey coach Kristen Holmes-Winn looks back at another successful season, while Ivy League champion swimmers Meredith Monroe and Colin Cordes look ahead to the Big Al Open, during the Dec. 2 edition of TigerCast.
Holmes-Winn guided Princeton to 14 victories, an undefeated Ivy League season and the NCAA quarterfinals during her eighth season leading the field hockey program. The Tigers were the only team to defeat eventual NCAA champion Maryland during the season, and made a strong run towards the final weekend despite losing first-team All-America Katie Reinprecht late in the season. She looks back at the many positives, as well as the postseason disappointment, of the 2010 season and talks about the early preparations already being made for 2011.
Monroe is a junior captain of the reigning Ivy League champion women's swimming and diving team. The 2010 Ivy League individual champion in the 200 back and a 2008 All-America honoree, Monroe is one of the team leaders for a program that is hoping to repeat as league champion when the conference meet returns to DeNunzio Pool. She talks about the early performance of the Tigers and discusses the annual Big Al Open, which will be held at DeNunzio Pool this weekend.
Cordes is also the reigning Ivy League champion in the 200 back, and also is a member of the junior class for the reigning Ivy League champion men's program. He is part of a powerful junior class that has gone 2-for-2 at the conference meet, and is already thinking the biggest of thoughts for its postseason career. Cordes is also preparing for the Big Al Open, which will conclude the 2010 portion of the season for both the men's and women's programs.
