Princeton Announces 2026 Field Hockey Schedule

Tiger Field Hockey 2026 Schedule
A rematch of the 2025 NCAA championship game, the renewal of one of the best Ivy League rivalries in any sport, games against the three other teams that made the NCAA Final Four a year ago and visits from two fairly local opponents who have never played on Bedford Field highlight the 2026 Princeton field hockey schedule.
Â
Princeton will come into 2026 after going 18-4 a year ago, winning the Ivy League tournament and then three NCAA tournament games before falling 2-1 in double overtime to Northwestern in the final. The Tigers and Wildcats will meet on Bedford Field on Oct. 11.
Â
By then Princeton will have played four of its seven Ivy games, including a Sept. 25 trip to Harvard, a team the Tigers played three times a year ago. It was Harvard who won the regular-season game and the Ivy championship, before the Tigers came back with wins in the Ivy tournament final and then the national semifinals.
Â
The Ivy League season starts at Penn on Sept. 18 and will be the first of three games between the Tigers and a Philadelphia opponent, which is about 45 miles from Princeton. Despite that proximity, and despite the success of the three programs, there is little history between the Tigers and the other two Philly opponents who will visit this season. Princeton will host Temple on Oct. 4 in the 18th meeting between the teams but the first since 1992 and second since 1984. St. Joe's will come to Princeton on Oct. 25 in what will be only the second meeting ever between the two; the first came two years ago in the NCAA quarterfinals, a game St. Joe's won 1-0.
Â
The season opens with the Crossover Challenge, which this year will be at North Carolina, who lost in overtime to Northwestern in the NCAA semifinals last season. Princeton will play UNC on Sept. 4 to start the year and then follows that with a game two days later against Old Dominion.
