Indoor Track & Field Opens Season Hosting New Year's Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. (12/6/10) - The Princeton indoor track & field season gets underway on Saturday, Dec. 11 when it hosts the New Year's Invitational at Jadwin Gym. A full schedule of events can be found below.
Eleven schools will visit Jadwin Gym for the meet. They include: Lafayette, Manhattan, Montclair State, Ramapo, Rider, Rutgers, St. Joseph's, St. Thomas Aquinas, College of New Jersey, Towson and Westchester.
The meet begins at 11 a.m., with the men's weight throw.
The Tigers won 16 of the 25 events last year. On the track Princeton swept the men's and women's mile, 300 meters and 1000 meters. Brooke Russell posted a time of 5:09 in the mile, Greta Feldman finished in just over 3:00 in the 1000 and Eileen Moran clocked in at 40.62 in the 300. Reagan Lynch won the mile in 4:18, Michael Palmisano ran a 2:33 in the 1000 and Austin Hollimon ran the 300 in 33.88. In addition, Abidemi Adenikinju won the 60-meters at 7.74 and Mike Eddy took top honors in the 400 at 1:21.40.
With the exception of Lynch, all of the aforementioned athletes return this season.
Princeton also swept the pole vault with David Slovenski clearing 4.60 and Tory Worthen reaching 3.81.Tiffany Liu and Issac Serwanga both earned wins in the long jump at 5.57 and 7.12, respectively. Emma Ruggiero won the weight throw at 17.21 and Ian Fox took top honors in the high jump clearing 4.10. Fox is the lone winner from last year that does not return to the Tigers' rosters.
