Winter, Spring Teams Share Time In Latest TigerCast

Women's hockey senior Melanie Wallace, whose team battles for home ice this weekend, and new men's lacrosse coach Chris Bates, who is less than two weeks from opening a new era at Princeton, join the latest edition of TigerCast.

Wallace, a senior offensive player for the women's hockey team, had two assists last weekend as Princeton swept both No. 4 Clarkson and St. Lawrence at Baker Rink. With one weekend remaining in the regular season, the Princeton women will look to clinch home ice in the first round of the ECAC playoffs with games against Brown (Friday at 7) and Yale (Saturday at 4).

Bates takes over for Tiger legend Bill Tierney, but he brings impressive credentials as both an Ivy League student-athlete (Dartmouth) and as a head coach (Drexel). Bates now takes over a Top-10 program with both returning experience and plenty of questions after several key graduations last year. Early injuries and record-breaking snowfall hasn't made the preseason any easier, but Bates talks about some of the positives he has already seen from a lacrosse team that begins its season Feb. 27 against Hofstra.
