Rowing, Golf Championships Discussed In Latest TigerCast
April 22, 2010 | Men's Golf, Women's Golf, Women's Rowing - Open
Open crew co-captain Sara Hendershot and men's and women's golf coaches Will Green and Amy Bond, on the eve of the 2010 Ivy League Men's and Women's Golf Championships, are guests in the latest edition of TigerCast.
Hendershot has been an integral member of the Princeton varsity eight since her freshman year, and her team if off to its best start since the national championship season of 2006. Princeton moved to No. 2 in the latest national rankings after sweeping both then-No. 1 Virginia and No. 4 Yale last weekend on Lake Carnegie. Hendershot talks about the both the race last weekend and the work that was put in from all classes, including a talented freshman group that has three rowers in the varsity eight.
Green will be looking for his seventh Ivy League title as the head coach of Princeton men's golf when the team heads to historic Baltusrol Golf Club to compete for the 2010 league title. Princeton is coming off a second-place finish last week at the Caves Valley Intercollegiate, where the Tigers defeated four Ivy squads.
Bond is in her fourth year at Princeton and is looking for her first title and the program's first since 2005. Princeton placed seventh last weekend at the Roar-EE Invitational, hosted by Columbia. Like the men, the women will compete in the three-day tournament at Baltusrol.
