Women's Water Polo Falls to Bucknell in Southern Title Game

Bucknell led 4-1 after a quarter and built its lead to 6-1 midway through the second period, before the Tigers trimmed the lead to two goals by halftime. Princeton got as close as one goal, trailing 10-9 with a minute to go before the Bison added an insurance goal late for the 11-9 win.
Brittany Zwirner scored three goals to lead the Tigers, while Carolina Ardila added a pair. Four others added single goals in the loss and Kristen Ward made four saves.
Princeton, which was playing in its 10th-straight Southern title game, finishes as the league's runner up after falling to Bucknell for the second time this season. The loss also snapped a six-game Princeton winning streak. The Tigers now are 18-9 overall and will play in the Eastern Championships next weekend. Seeding for the tournament will be announced on Monday.
