
Brown Edges Men's Heavyweights For Content Cup

The Princeton men's heavyweight varsity eight challenged the third-ranked Brown crew in the 2010 regular season finale on Lake Carnegie, but the talented crew from Providence was able to retain the Content Cup by slightly more than three seconds.
Brown has now won the last four Content Cups and holds a 10-6 all-time edge over Princeton in this annual regatta. The Bears won the race in 5:37.4, while Princeton placed second in 5:40.6. Brown won three of four races on the day, taking the second varsity by more than 11 seconds and the third varsity by 2.8 seconds.
Princeton did earn a victory by its novice eight, which continued its impressive season by winning in a time of 5:50.5. That topped Brown by more than eight seconds.
Princeton, which came into the weekend ranked ninth nationally, is now off until May 16, when it will join the rest of the EARC field in Worcester, Mass., to compete for both the 2010 Eastern and Ivy League titles.
