Five to Join Princeton Field Hockey in 2010

Princeton was 16-3 a season ago and was an NCAA semifinalist. Princeton will enter the 2010 campaign looking for its sixth-straight Ivy title, its 19th overall and its 16th in the last 17 years.
Amanda Bird, Back, Vancouver, B.C., Carson Graham
Bird was a first-team Premier League all-star as a junior and senior at Carson Graham, winning the Bridgeman Cup and finishing third at Provincials in her senior season. The team was also the North Shore AAA champion and she won school's field hockey and soccer awards in Grades 9, 10 and 11. Bord also played on the British Columbia Provincial A U-18 team the past two seasons, finishing fourth at Canadian Senior Nationals and first in the Canada Cup.
Kelsey Byrne, Midfield, Wayne Pa., Archbishop John Carroll
Byrne is a a current member of the U.S. National Indoor Team and placed fourth with the team at the 2010 WASA Cup in Denmark. Byrne was a member of championship team at 2010 National Indoor Tournament and competed in the 2008 Junior Olympics, 2009 Futures Elite and 2010 Junior High Performance tournaments. Byrne played club field hockey with the WC Eagles and was a first-time festival pool champion and a two-time NIT pool champion. She played high school field hockey at Archbishop Carroll and was a four-year varsity starter on a team that won two league championships, a District championship and was a Pennsylvania state quarterfinalist. She served as team captain as a senior and was the team's Most Valuable Player. She was a four-time all-area and three-time all-league selection and also played varsity lacrosse.
Christina Maida, Goalkeeper, Doylestown, Pa., Central Bucks East
Maida was a three-year varsity starter in goal at Central Bucks East, where she was team's Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior and served as team captain her senior year. Maida was an Academic All-America and the Philadelphia Inquirer's Player of the Year as a senior and was also a first-team all-state selection and named to Philadelphia area All-Star Team. Maida was a four-time National Indoor Tournament Qualifier and NIT Champion in 2007. She was also the goalie for the 2009 National Field Hockey Festival A Pool championship winning team.
Allegra Mango, Striker, West Long Branch, N.J., Shore Regional
Mango captained the New Jersey Group I State Championship Shore Regional team and was a two-time All-Shore Conference selection, a two-time first-team all-division selection and a 2010 all-county selection. Mango was selected to three National Futures field hockey tournament from 2007-2009 and played in the 2008 Junior Olympics.
Tori Romvary, Back, Medford Lakes, N.J., Merion Mercy Academy
Romvary was a three-year varsity starter at Merion Mercy Academy and served as a team captain her junior and senior years. She was a first-team all-state and a first-team Mainline All-Star as a senior and her team was a PIAA State Tournament AA finalist. Romvari received her school's scholar-athlete award as a senior. She also is a two-time National Futures Championship selection and AACA League Champion and is a year-round Mystx club team member. Romvari has competed in three National Indoor Tournaments.
