Princeton will open its second season under Ward during the first weekend of September, when it heads to Easton, Pa., for the Lafayette Tournament. The season will officially begin Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. aagainst Lafayette; Princeton will face both St. Peter's and FDU the following day.
Following a mid-week game at one Big East in-state rival, Seton Hall, Princeton will head to another for its second tournament. The Tigers will compete in the 2010 Rutgers Tournament Sept. 10-11, beginning with a Friday afternoon showdown against TCU at 4:30 p.m. Princeton will take on Rutgers and George Mason the following day.
Princeton's biggest weekend test will come Sept. 17-18 at the Penn State Classic in University Park. Princeton will take on Penn State and George Washington the following day; Penn State is the three-time reigning NCAA champion and will enter the season on a 101-match win streak.
The Tigers will make their home debut Sept. 22 against Temple; the match will also serve as the final test before opening the Ivy League season. And if Princeton wasn't tested enough during the non-league slate, it will get another quick test during the Ivy opener. Princeton will head to 2009 champion Penn for a 7 p.m. match Oct. 1 in what will be the Ivy opener for both teams.
Princeton will have three home Ivy League weekends: Oct. 8-9 (Brown/Yale); Oct. 15-16 (Harvard/Dartmouth) and Nov. 5-6 (Cornell/Columbia). Princeton will conclude the regular season Nov. 17 against Penn at Dillon Gym.
