TCU Sweeps Volleyball To Open Rutgers Tournament
September 10, 2010 | Women's Volleyball
Despite a career-high 11 kills from sophomore Jennifer Palmquist, the Princeton women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to a strong TCU squad. Princeton will take on Rutgers and George Mason during the second day of competition tomorrow.
Princeton was able to hang close through most of the final two sets, but a weathered TCU squad, which has already taken on 2009 NCAA finalist Texas, won the three sets 25-18, 25-20, 25-21.
Palmquist recorded 11 kills and only two errors for a .391 attack percentage, and classmate Lydia Rudnick added 10 kills and five digs for the Tigers, who fell to 3-2 overall. Freshman Chelsea Parker added six kills, while senior C.C. Lobben had a team-best eight digs. Junior Michaela Venuti paced the offense with 30 assists.
Princeton will take on Rutgers Saturday at noon, and will remain on the court for a 2 p.m. match with George Mason.
