Women's Water Polo 16th in National Preseason Poll

PRINCETON (1/13/11) -- The Princeton women's water polo team will enter the 2011 season ranked 16th in the CWPA Women's Varsity Top 20 Preseason Poll. Princeton finished the 2009 season ranked 17th in the country after its third-place finish at the Eastern Championships.
Princeton is the fourth highest-ranked Eastern program behind Michigan (8), Indiana (12) and Hartwick (13). Princeton will play all three throughout the course of a season that begins the weekend of Feb. 12 and 13 at home with the Princeton Invitational. The Tigers will host Siena, Brown, Colorado State and Pacific in that opening weekend.
Fifth-ranked Hawaii is the highest-ranked team on the Tiger schedule. Princeton will also take on sixth-ranked Loyola Marymount, seventh-ranked San Jose State, 10th-ranked San Diego State and 19th-ranked UC San Diego during the year.
