Columbia will come to Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium for a 4 p.m. game Saturday as the Princeton women's soccer team returns to Ivy League play following a successful midweek stretch.
The Tigers are in the middle of a five-game, 11-day stretch in which the team has held a lead in each of the first three games. Princeton fell to Brown 2-1 last Saturday after the Bears scored the final two goals, but the Tigers beat Francis Marion 6-0 Monday and Lehigh 1-0 Wednesday to gain momentum heading into this weekend.
The busy stretch will conclude, momentarily, with a visit from Utah Valley on Oct. 18 before Princeton heads to Harvard next weekend.
Columbia enters the game looking to snap a three-game skid in which the Lions have been shut out each time. After winning the first two Ivy games to co-lead the league with Harvard, Columbia fell to Penn last weekend and will look to bounce back against Princeton.
Six Lions have scored this season with rookie Alexa Yow leading with two goals. Between the posts, senior Lillian Klein has had 10 of the team's 12 starts, carrying a 1.07 GAA. Ten Tigers have scored goals this season with seven of those players scoring their first career goals. Junior Jen Hoy still paces the team with three, while Kristin Watson and Claire Pinciaro have traded starts as goalkeeper of late. Watson has started three of the last four games overall and the last two Ivy contests, carrying a GAA of 1.00 after a shutout Wednesday night at Lehigh.
Klein has authored two straight shutouts against Princeton as the Lions won 2-0 last year in New York and tied 0-0 two years ago in Princeton.
