Volleyball Picks Up Important Road Win At Harvard

Needing a victory to keep within one match of Yale, the Princeton women's volleyball team scored a crucial 3-1 victory over Harvard Saturday night in Cambridge.
Princeton claimed a tight two-point win in the opening set and used that momentum for a 25-23, 25-13, 17-25, 25-16 victory at Harvard. The outsides shined for Princeton, as junior Lydia Rudnick led the team with 22 kills and freshman Sarah Hanna added 12 with a .440 attack percentage.
Rudnick added 14 digs and six blocks for a Princeton team that shined defensively. Princeton had 73 digs, and five players recorded at least 10; senior libero Hillary Ford led the way with 17, while freshman setter Ginny Willis had 13, to go along with her 52 assists. Both sophomores Sydney Brombal and Chelsea Parker had 10 digs apiece.
Princeton also got strong play out of the middle. Senior Cathryn Quinn had nine kills, two blocks and hit .304, while freshman Nicole Kincade added seven kills and three blocks.
Princeton is now 15-7 overall, 8-2 in the Ivy League, and is assured of being in control of its own destiny heading into next weekend's Brown-Yale trip. Yale remains in first place in the Ivy League after its 3-0 win over Cornell Saturday; should both Yale and Princeton win Friday, the Tigers would be playing for a share of first place during Yale's Senior Night.
