PRINCETON, N.J. (11/10/11) - The Princeton
women's hockey team heads to the North Country to take on St. Lawrence on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m., and Clarkson on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 4 p.m.
Both games will be Web streamed for a fee of $8 per game. Live stats will also be available free of charge.
Princeton is 4-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the ECAC to sit in first place in the league standings with travel partner Quinnipiac. Sophomores Sally Butler and Denna Laing are the team's leading scorers with nine points apiece. Laing was named the ECAC Player of the Week after a five-point week against Brown and Yale last weekend. Sophomore Olivia Mucha adds four goals and three assists for seven points to set up a potent top line for the Tigers. Senior Rachel Weber has a 1.49 goals against average and a .937 save percentage. Both numbers rank third in the league. Princeton's scoring offense (2.83) and defense (1.50) also rank third, while its penalty kill (90%) is tops in the league.
Princeton has a 27-17-3 edge in the all-time series with St. Lawrence. The Tigers have won the last three games and five of the last six games. Princeton recorded wins of 3-1 and 4-0 last season.St. Lawrence is 4-3-3 overall and 1-2-1 in the league. Senior Karell Emard has three goals and seven assists for 10 points. Junior Kelly Sabatine and sophomore Rylee Smith have nine points on matching four goals and five assists. The Saints use a two-goaltender system with sophomore Caitlyn Lahonen sporting the better numbers with a 1.74 GAA and a .923. Carmen MacDonald has a 3.09 GAA and an .899 save percentage.
Princeton owns a 13-5-1 lead in the all-time series with Clarkson. The team's split the series last year with Princeton taking a 2-0 game in Potsdam on Jan. 7, and Clarkson winning 3-2 in Princeton on Jan. 28.
Clarkson is 5-3-4 overall and 1-2-1 in league play. Sophomores Jamie Lee Rattray and Carly Mercer are the Golden Knights top two scoring threats. Rattray leads the league in points and assists with 16 points on 11 assists and five goals. Mercer has six goals and six assists for 12 points. Junior Danielle Skirrow is next on the list with nine points. Sophomore Erica Howe has played every game in goal and has a 2.11 GAA and a .911 save percentage.
