February 10, 2011 | Women's Track and Field
PRINCETON, N.J. (2/8/11) - The Princeton women's track & field team will compete at the annual HYP Meet on Saturday, Feb. 12 at Yale.
A schedule of events can be found below.
The Tigers won the HYP last year with 90.5 points to Harvard's 47.5 and Yale's 21. Princeton has won HYP three times in the last five years, also winning in 2008 – the last time the meet was at Yale – and in 2007.
Princeton won 10 of the 15 events last year including: 60, 200, 400, 3000, 4x4, 4x8, pole vault, long jump, shot put and weight throw.
Eileen Moran set an HYP record last year in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.65, the only record set last year on either side. She also won the 200 with a time of 25.13. Emma Ruggiero set a Princeton record in the weight throw, when she threw to 17.63 meters. She has since bettered that mark throwing to 18.30 meters in the first meet this season. Thanithia Billings took top honors in the shot put throwing to 14.75 meters, beating the second place thrower from Harvard by 1.35 meters. On the track, Danielle Glaeser won the 500 at 57.04 and both relays won their events.
