Tigers Fall 8-6 to #4 Hawaii in Women's Water Polo

Six Tigers scored single goals in the loss as Princeton fell behind 6-1 at the half but scored four times in the third quarter to tighten the gap. Princeton scored the first four goals of the quarter to trim the lead to 6-5, but Hawaii scored with five second left in the third to stretch the lead back out to two goals. Brittany Zwirner had a goal and an assist in the loss, while Molly McBee scored and had three steals.
Tanya Wilcox, Sarah Hutchison, Lauren Brunner and Katie Rigler also added goals. Wilcox's goal came off a counter and Rigler's was a 5-meter shot. Kristen Ward made five saves in the first half, while Grace du Pont stopped six shots in the second half.
Princeton was scoreless on five man-up chances and converted on one of two 5-meter shots. Hawaii scored twice on five extra-man chances and scored on its lone 5-meter shot.
Princeton is now 2-1 in its three games in San Diego. Princeton faces 10th-ranked San Jose State later this afternoon.
