Trio of Track & Field Coaches Earn Coach of the Year Honors

NEW ORLEANS (3/7/11) - Princeton's Fred Samara, Peter Farrell and Steve Dolan were all honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as the Region Coaches and Assistant Coach of the Year, it was announced by the organization on Monday, March 7.

MID-ATLANTIC REGION - Pete Farrell

Princeton women
gave Farrell a memorable 33rd year by winning the 2011 Indoor Heptagonals.
Fourteen Tigers earned ECAC qualifying marks and own 19 top-10 marks in the
Mid-Atlantic region. Farrell has his women sitting number two in the region.

MID-ATLANTIC REGION - Fred Samara

Princeton men
gave Fred a memorable 33rd year by winning the 2011 Indoor Heptagonals with a
record 215 points. In addition to winning 13 out of 18 events, the Tigers set 4
meet records (PV, 800, 1,000 and 4x4 Relay). During the season Princeton
defeated Patriot League Champion Navy in a dual meet and Big East Champion
Connecticut at the Armory II Meet. His team is ranked No. 2 in the region.
Men's Assistant Coach of the Year
MID-ATLANTIC REGION - Steve Dolan

Dolan's distance
runners won every event longer than 400 meters and totaled 96 points to lead
Princeton to the Heps title. Donn Cabral was named Heps MVP after winning the
3K and 5K at the Championships. The seven-year veteran is part of a staff
currently ranked second in the Mid-Atlantic region.
