Women's Track & Field to Compete in Three Meets This Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/13/11) – The Princeton women's track & field team will compete at three meets this weekend.
The Tigers will split up and head to either the Tom Jones Invitational at James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track on Saturday or the Moravian Greyhound Invitational at the Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track in Bethlehem, Pa., on Friday and Sunday (please note the change). The schedule of events that the Tigers will be competing in is listed below.
Distance runners Alex Banfich and Sarah Cummings will run at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. running the 5,000 on Friday night.
Last year at Mt. Sac, Cummings won the 10,000 at 33:55.91 the 13th best time in the nation. Banfich won the 5,000 clocking in at 16:00.40, the fourth-best time in the nation. She went on to earn All-America honors in that event last spring, while Cummings is a 2009 All-America in the 10,000.
In Florida, both Emma Ruggiero and Tory Worthen had third-place finishes in their respective events, the hammer throw and pole vault. Thanithia Billings won Flight A of the shot put and Eileen Moran placed in the top 12 in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes.
This will be Princeton's first time competing in the Moravian invitational.
