Women's Water Polo Tops Bucknell 12-5 Behind Rigler's Seven Goals

Rigler's seven goals came on seven shots as she scored Princeton's first three goals to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead through a quarter. She then scored two of Princeton's four second period goals as the Tigers built a 7-4 halftime lead. Princeton stretched the lead over the final 16 minutes scoring outscoring Bucknell 5-1 in the second half. Rigler now leads the team with 42 goals this season.
Five other Tigers scored single goals in the win, including Molly McBee's 25th goal of the season and Saranna Soroka's 15th. Lauren Brunner had two assists, along with one for Brittany Zwirner who now leads the team with 20 assists this season.
Princeton was 5 for 8 on man-ups in the win and scored on two 5-meter shots, both coming from Rigler. She also scored three man-up goals, with the others coming from Sarah Hutchison and Soroka. Bucknell scored three goals on eight chances while playing with an extra player. Kristen Ward made nine saves in the win.
Princeton improved to 12-8 with the win. The Tigers continue the weekend on Sunday with games against seventh-ranked Michigan and St. Francis.
Princeton played an exhibition game earlier in the day with the New York Athletic Club. The Tigers won the game 10-6 behind a three-goal performance from McBee. Seven others scored in the win while Ward and Grace du Pont combined for 14 saves.
