Worthen Wins ECAC Pole Vault

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/14/11) - Sophomore Tory Worthen won her second ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the pole vault on Saturday, May 14 as Princeton completed day two of hosting the championship at Weaver Stadium.
Worthen cleared 3.86 (12-8.00), four inches higher than the second-place vaulter from Army. She was the ECAC indoor champion in the event in 2010.
Senior Emma Ruggiero was the runner up in the hammer throw, throwing to 58.45 (191-09).
Sophomore Greta Feldman qualified for the finals of the 800 with a blistering time of 2:07.26 in the prelims. She shaved more than three seconds off her previous best PR and will be one of eight that will run in the final tomorrow.
Princeton will also compete in the triple jump and shot put tomorrow. The triple jump begins the day at 11 a.m.
Due to possible weather issues, Sunday's event will be conducted on a rolling time schedule beginning at noon.
