Mens Track & Field Hands Out Annual Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. (6/1/11) - The 2011 Princeton men's track & field annual awards have been awarded as the 2010-11 academic year has come to a close.
The Babb Memorial Award, awarded to a freshman member of the track team, who through sportsmanship, influence and performance, has contributed to the sport at Princeton, was given to Tom Hopkins and Damon McLean.
Seniors Mark Amirault and Mike Eddy were co-recipients of the Bonthron Award. It is awarded to the member of the varsity track & field team, who through sportsmanship, influence and performance, has contributed to the sport at Princeton.
Amirault was also the winner of the Joseph Myers Award. Awarded annually to the member of the team who has distinguished himself in scholarship, athletic performance and character.
The Peter J. Morgan Award, handed out to that member of the team who best exemplifies the qualities of spirit, determination, integrity and sportsmanship was given to seniors Craig Pearce and George Abyad.
Senior Dion Lehman was presented with the Irwin W. Weiss Award. It is awarded to the member of the team who best exemplifies the qualities of spirit, sportsmanship and gentlemanliness.
The Murray Peyton Reach Awards was presented to senior Kyle Soloff.
Team captain for the 2011-12 season were also selected. The captain's elect are Donn Cabral, Ricky Kearney and David Slovenski.
