Newell to Represent Canada at U18 World Championship

CALGARY (12/4/12) - Princeton women's hockey player Kimberly Newell has been named to the Canadian U18 Team, it was announced by Hockey Canada on Friday, Nov. 30.
Newell will represent Canada at the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women's World Championship, taking place Dec. 29-Jan. 5 in Heinola and Vierumäki, Finland.
She won't be the only Tiger in Finland. The U.S. team is coached by Princeton's own Jeff Kampersal.
Eight countries will compete at the World Championship:Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Sweden, U.S.
Canada is the reigning World Champion and also won in 2010. The US won in 2011, 2009 and the inaugural championship in 2008.
