No. 18 Women's Water Polo Set to Play Four Ranked Teams in Golden State

The No. 18 Princeton women's water polo team (16-1 overall, 2-0 Southern Division) travels to Southern California for a six game road swing from Mar. 17-20. During that span, the Tigers will face four ranked squads, marking their toughest slate of games so far this season. Princeton will open up the weekend at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego from Mar. 17-18, before facing a pair of squads at Azusa Pacific on Tuesday, Mar. 20.

Last Time Out: The Tigers went 3-1 at the Harvard Invitational from Mar. 3-4, earning wins over conference rivals Brown and Harvard, and Mercyhurst during the two-day invite. Princeton suffered its lone loss of the year to then-No. 12 San Jose State, as the Spartans edged past the Tigers, 13-12, with six seconds remaining in the game.
Princeton has not played a game in 13 days.
Rigler and Ward Earn Weekly Conference Honors: For the fourth consecutive week a Tiger were honored by the CWPA Southern Division for the week of Mar. 5. Katie Rigler earned her second career Player of the Week accolade, while senior Kristen Ward was named Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Rigler scored 15 goals, made four steals, two assist and drew two ejections at the Harvard Invite, including a season-high six goals versus Brown. On the defensive end, Ward tallied 30 saves, a pair of steals and an assist in 88 minutes of work.
Scouting No. 12 CSU Northridge: The No. 12 CSU Northridge Matadors head to San Diego riding a six-game winning streak and a 10-11 overall record. The squad is led by Marisa Young's 38 goals in 21 games played. The Matadors have seen Dana Harvey and Kiernan Davis see minutes in goal, with Harvey leading the way with 672 minutes played in 19 games. She's tallied 205 saves and has a 9.76 saves percentage.
Scouting No. 19 UC San Diego: No. 20 UC San Diego (10-9, 1-1) is coming off a split weekend versus conference rivals. The Tritons defeated Colorado State, 9-4, on Mar. 9, before falling to Loyola Marymount 15-7 the following day. Allie Taylor has taken the bulk of UCSD's goalie minutes, as she's tallied 134 saves and six assists, while allowing 162 goals against. Sarah Lizotte leads the Triton offense with 51 goals and 18 assists, in addition to making 23 steals.
Scouting Pacific: Pacific (8-5) is coming off a 9-8 loss versus UC San Diego at the Aggie Shootout on Mar. 3. Prior to heading to the Aztec Invite, the Tigers will play four games at the LMU Invite from Mar. 16-17. Jasmine Myles leads the UOP offense with 80 goals in 160 attempts, while goalie Brooke Millar has 6.45 goals against average. In 31 games, she's allowed 200 goals against.
Scouting No. 8 San Diego State: No. 8 San Diego State (11-6 overall, 0-3 MPSF) ended a three-game losing skid with an 8-4 victory over then-No. 14 Hawaii on Mar. 15. The Aztec offense is headlined by Meaghan Poland, who's scored 38 goals on 73 attempts in 17 games played. In the cage, goalie Kelly Campoli has a 7.69 goals against average in 17 games. She's tallied 207 saves on the year.
Scouting No. 4 Arizona State: The highest ranked opponents the Tigers will face thus far, No. 4 Arizona State will face top-ranked UCLA, Iona and Pomona-Pitzer before seeing the Tigers on Tuesday. ASU (16-2 overall, 2-0 MPSF) is led by Alicia Brightwell's 44 goals on the year. Goalie Ianeta Hutchinson has 147 saves on the season, allowing 105 goals against for a 6.18 goals against average.
Scouting Azusa Pacific: Azusa Pacific hosts the Tigers following a four-game weekend road slate in Southern California. The Cougars (6-10) are coming off a pair of losses to Bucknell, 14-10, and Indiana, 14-8, at the Cal State Bakersfield Tournament on Mar. 10. Goalie Brooke Sovic has started 15 games and made 120 saves. She's allowed 126 goals for a 10.29 goals against average. Courtney Folsom is the squad's offensive leader, with 26 goals and 14 assists.
