Cabral & Callahan to Compete at NCAA Championships

Princeton's Senior Donn Cabral and junior Peter Callahan have been selected to participate in the 2012 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championship it was announced by the NCAA Track & Field Committee on Monday, March 5.
The championships will be held March 9-10 in Nampa, Idaho.
Cabral, a six-time All-America, is one of 16 that will run in the 5,000. He set an Ivy League record in the event at the Husky Invitational when he clocked in at 13:45.90, 6.50 seconds faster than the previous best set in 1994. This is the first time Cabral will take part in the indoor NCAA Championship and fifth time overall. He ran in the 2010 & 2011 NCAA Championships in outdoor track and cross country. Cabral ran the 5k in the last two outdoor championships, finishing sixth and eighth in the country, earning All-America honors both times.
The 5k will be held at 8:05 p.m., on Friday, March 9 and will be streamed on ESPN3
Callahan is one of 15 that will run in the mile. He qualified with his time of 3:58.76 at the Husky Invitational. That time came one week after he ran 3:58.86 at Sykes & Sabock, a meet record. Callahan is just the second Tiger in program history to run a sub-four minute mile, joining Bill Burke '91 and is the third Ivy League runner to break the four-minute indoor mile. This will be Callahan's first NCAA Championship appearance.
The preliminary of the mile is on Friday, March 9 at 5 p.m., and will be streamed on NCAA.com and broncosports.com. The final is scheduled for Saturday, March 10 at 6:15 p.m. and will also be streamed on the aforementioned sites.
