Men's Water Polo Players and Team Earn ACWPC All-Academic Accolades

Eight Princeton men's water polo players earned ACWPC All-Academic Awards, announced Friday by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must carry a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher and the individual award is comprised of three categories. Outstanding honors go to players with a GPA between 3.71-4.00, Superior honors are awarded to GPA's between 3.41-3.70 and Excellent honors are for GPA's ranging from 3.20-3.40.
The top academic performer, sophomore A.J. Galainena led Princeton earning Outstanding honors for the second consecutive season, while sophomore Kurt Buchbinder, freshman Sam Butler and senior Mike Helou earned Superior honors. Buchbinder is a two-time recipient, while Helou has earned academic accolades all four years at Princeton. Sophomore Tyler Amina, senior Chris Cottrell, freshman Kayj Shannon and sophomore Connor Still received Excellent distinction. Amina and Cottrell earn academic recognition for the second and fourth times, respectively.
The program also received recognition and was ranked No. 8 among CWPA teams for boasting a 3.135 cumulative grade point average.
