Jarrett & Park Earn Wins at TCNJ Invitational

EWING, N.J. (4/28/12) - The Princeton men's track & field team completed one final tune-up before it gets set to defend its title at the Ivy League Heptagonal. The Tigers won two events at The College of New Jersey's Lions Invitational on Saturday, April 28.
Senior Patrick Park won the shot put with a throw of 16.21 (53-2.25). Freshman Scott Rushton was the runner-up with a mark of 16.15 (53). They were the only two shot putters to throw over 50 feet.
Sophomore Omar Jarrett was the victor in the high jump. He cleared 2.00 (6-6.76) to win the event.
In the javelin, sophomore Alec Bingaman threw a PR of 57.68 (189-03) to finish third overall. Bingaman has steadily improved throwing to PRs both times he has competed in the javelin this year. Classmate Brad Pelisek also recorded a PR with a throw of 52.82 (173-03), five inches better than his previous best.
On the track, senior Sean Wilson was the runner-up in the 1500 with a time of 4:00.30. Senior Ricky Kearney placed fourth int he 400 at 49.89 and sophomore Jason Dzuranin was fifth in the 800 at 1:56.60.
Princeton seeks its second straight triple crown when it competes at Heps next weekend at Franklin Field.
