Rigler and Ward Garner Weekly Southern Division Honors

Following the Princeton women's water polo team's CWPA Eastern Championship, the Southern Division named Katie Rigler Player of the Week and Kristen Ward Defensive Player of the Week.
Rigler, who was named Southern Division Player of the Year and Eastern Championship MVP, tallied seven goals at the conference tournament. The sophomore also had five ejections drawn, three steals and three blocks. On the year, Rigler scored a team-leading 69 goals, tallied 32 steals, 28 ejections drawn, 11 assists, three blocks and won five sprints. She has earned Player of the Week honors four times over her career.
Four-time All-Southern selection Ward (below) took home defensive accolades for the ninth time of her career. At Easterns, she tallied 36 saves, three assists and a steal en route to Princeton's first berth to the NCAA Women's Water Polo Championship in program history and all-tournament second team accolades. On the year she has 256 saves and a .580 saves percentage.
No. 13 Princeton heads to the NCAAs from May 11-13 in San Diego, Calif. The sixth-seeded Tigers will open with third-seeded USC at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
