McCarthy-Beauvais '03 Wins Gold at World Masters Water Polo Championship

Former Princeton women's water polo player Adele McCarthy-Beauvais '03 helped guide The Olympic Club San Francisco to the 2012 Fina World Masters 30+ Championship in Riccione, Italy. Joining McCarthy-Beauvis on the squad was former Princeton men's and women's water polo assistant coach Serela Kay.
The Olympic Club opened the tournament with victories over Italy-Roma, 11-9, and Italy-Milan, 12-2, before seeing its lone loss to Italy-Golfo Paradiso, 8-5. The team concluded group play with a win over Germany-Hohenlimburger, 14-3.
With a second place finish in its bracket, The Olympic Club advanced to the championship game to face Golfo Paradiso in a rematch. After going down 3-0, the Americans evened the game up 3-3 in the second period. Golfo managed to head into halftime up 5-3, before McCarthy-Beauvais tallied a pair of goals en route to The Olympic Club's 8-6 victory.
The Olympic Club previously won the masters 30+ championship in 2010 in Sweden. The 2014 games will be hosted in Montreal, Canada.
