Leung Earns Second-Team All-America Honors in the 10k

DES MOINES, IOWA (6/6/12) - Senior Brian Leung earned second-team All-America honors as the the 2012 NCAA Track & Field Championships got underway today in Des Moines, Iowa.
In his final race as a Tiger, Leung finished 16th in the national final of the 10,000. He finished with a time of 29:58.45 in a highly competitive race that saw a 30-year facility record break.
This is Leung's second All-America honor, after receiving the accolade in cross country in 2010 with a 21st-place finish, while helping the team take 12th overall, the best finish in school history.
Leung is the third Princeton athlete to compete in the 10,000 at the NCAA Championships. He joins Frank Macreery (2006) and Joe LeMay (1990) who boast the top two times in program history. Leung leaves Old Nassau holding the fourth-best time in the 10k at 29:09.84.
Princeton will compete in three events tomorrow. Senior Trevor Van Ackeren is up first in the men's 1500 at 6:15 p.m., followed immediately by junior Greta Feldman in the women's 1500. Senior Donn Cabral will compete in the last event of the day at 7:25 p.m. All races are semifinal races.
