Feldman Advances to National Final of Women's 1500 & Olympic Trials

DES MOINES, IOWA (6/7/12) - Junior Greta Feldman had qualified for the national final of the women's 1500 at the 2012 NCAA Track & Field Championships in Des Moines on Thursday, June 7.
Feldman finished third in heat 2 at 4:12.73, a Princeton record, a personal best and the second-best time in Ivy League history. In addition, Feldman's time qualifies her for the Olympic trials as she reached the qualifying mark of 4:12.93.
Feldman was in the back for the first couple laps but turned on the heat in the final lap. She was in ninth place with 400 meters to go and blazed down the final stretch and past six others in impressive fashion to finished in third. Overall her time was the sixth-best in the semifinals.
Hitting her stride the last few weeks, Feldman ran 4:15 to win the East Regional in a what was a new Princeton record, taking down Laura Cattivera's time of 4:17.15 from 1989.
She will compete with 11 others in the final on Saturday, June 9 at 11:28 a.m., for the title of national champion.
