Volleyball Earns Opening Victory Over St. Francis; Palmquist Hits Over .900

The Princeton women's volleyball team had a successful debut to the 2012 season, topping St. Francis 3-1 in the opening match of the Hofstra Invitational. Senior Jennifer Palmquist led the way with 10 kills on only 11 swings.
The Tigers, who will play both Siena (11 am) and Hofstra (7:30 pm) Saturday, scored a 25-15, 25-18, 20-25, 25-14 victory over St. Francis.
Palmquist led a highly efficient Princeton offense with 10 kills and 0 errors (.909), while freshman Kendall Peterkin led all players with 13 kills. Sophomore Nicole Kincade also looked strong, recording seven kills and seven blocks in the win.
Sophomore Ginny Willis recorded 28 assists and led the offense to a .344 attack percentage; that total was over .415 in each of the three winning sets.
Junior Chelsea Parker added nine kills and eight digs, though freshman teammate Annie Ferlmann topped each her teammates in both digs (nine) and aces (four). Classmate Sarah Daschbach added five digs.
