Sept. 20 TigerCast: Katie Reinprecht, Jim Barlow & Jim Salgado
September 20, 2012 | Field Hockey, Football, General, Men's Soccer
Olympian Katie Reinprecht joins men's soccer head coach Jim Barlow and football assistant coach Jim Salgado in the fourth-season debut edition of TigerCast.
Reinprecht took last year off to compete for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team, which both she and her sister Julia '14 made; they helped the U.S. qualify for London, where the American squad earned its first Olympic win over Argentina. Reinprecht, a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year, is back and has led Princeton to a perfect start in the 2012 season. The Tigers take on two teams this weekend, including a home game against No. 2 Syracuse Sunday.
Barlow is in his 17th year as head coach of the men's soccer team. The Tigers have two wins in an all-Big East start to their season, including a 1-0 road win at Villanova last weekend. Princeton will host its annual home invitational this weekend, where it will play Rider Friday night at 7:30 and FDU Sunday at 2:30.
Salgado is in his third season as the defensive backfield coach at Princeton, which hosts Georgetown Friday night at 7 on ESPNU. Salgado saw his young cornerbacks, including second-year starter Khamal Brown and freshman Anthony Gaffney, pitch a second-half shutout against No. 13 Lehigh last weekend.
