Women's Soccer to Open Ivy Season at Yale Saturday

• Princeton won its first game back on the East Coast Wednesday night, defeating Lafayette 5-2 after a two-game trip to Los Angeles against No. 3 UCLA and UC Irvine.
• In the game, Jen Hoy had her second hat trick of the season, giving her a career-high nine goals already this season and moving her into fourth place all-time on the Princeton career list with 27.
• Hoy has nine of Princeton's 15 goals this season, while fellow senior Caitlin Blosser has three. Junior Erika Hoglund scored her first goal of the season against Lafayette, and freshmen Jessica Lee and Megan Gittins have one apiece.
• Seniors Kristin Watson (1-2, 1.80 GAA) and Claire Pinciaro (2-1, 2.17 GAA) have logged 540 of the team's 650 minutes in goal.
• Princeton holds a 21-11-2 record all-time against Yale. The visiting team has won the last five games in the series, and no team has recorded back-to-back wins in the series since the Bulldogs won in 2006 and 2007.
• The first time Yale was the Ivy opener for Princeton was 2000, and the Bulldogs have been Princeton's Ivy lid-lifter every year since except for 2001 and 2007. In those 10 games, Princeton leads 6-4.
• Ten Bulldogs have scored a goal this season, with senior Kristen Forster having scored five of the team's 18 goals.
• Yale has allowed nine goals in eight games this season, and three keepers have split time in goal. The trio - senior Adel Jackson-Gibson (2-1, 1.35 GAA), sophomore Elise Wilcox (0-1, 1.38 GAA) and freshman Rachel Ames (2-1, 0.66 GAA) - have each played between 27 and 37 percent of the team's minutes. After the opening game, no Yale keeper has played an entire game.
• Following the Yale game, Princeton will head to Saint Peter's for a non-league match Tuesday and will host Dartmouth on Sept. 29 in the Ivy home opener.
