This Week for the Tigers:
• The No. 11 Princeton field hockey team (5-3, 2-0 Ivy) hosts its annual Play 4 the Cure match this Friday, Oct. 4 versus Columbia (3-5, 1-1 Ivy) at 6 p.m.
• The lone contest marks the first time this season the Tigers only play one game over a weekend.
Last Time Out:
• The Tigers remained undefeated in Ivy League play, topping Yale 2-0 on Sept. 27.
• Allison Evans scored the game-winner in the 24th minute on an unassisted drive into the circle and Julia Reinprecht added an insurance goal off an Amanda Bird penalty corner pass in the 56th minute.
• Two days later versus then-No. 3 UConn, the Tigers put up a strong defensive effort versus the 2012 Final Four participant. After 62 scoreless minutes, Roisin Upton sent in the deciding strike to lift the Huskies to a 1-0 victory.
On Deck: Princeton hits the road for a five-game road swing beginning at current No. 1 Maryland on Friday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.

Scouting Columbia:
• Columbia (3-5, 1-1 Ivy) enters this week's action riding a three-game losing skid.
• The Lions suffered consecutive one-goal losses at Cornell, 3-2, and Fairfield, 4-3, on the road last weekend.
• Columbia is 0-2 versus ranked teams, falling by three or more goals in both games.
• Katie Ruesterholz headlines to the offense with nine goals over eight matches.
• Kimberly Pianucci (3-5) has been the team's primary goalkeeper, tallying 62 saves, a .721 saves percentage, 24 goals against and a 3.14 goals against average.
All-Time vs. Columbia:
• Princeton owns the all-time series versus Columbia, 16-0, including a 7-0 record at home.
• The Tigers defeated the Lions, 8-0, on Sept. 28, 2012 on the road.

Play 4 the Cure:
• Princeton is hosting its annual Play 4 the Cure Friday, raising funds for breast cancer research and awareness of the importance of early detection.

• The Tigers extended their Ivy League winning streak to 15 consecutive victories following last week's 2-0 win over Yale.

• All three losses have been to teams ranked No. 13 or higher at the time of the meeting.
• Princeton has not lost to an unranked opponent since 2011.
Reinprecht '13 and Sharkey '13 Win Silver at Pan Am Cup:
• Katie Reinprecht '13 and Kathleen Sharkey '13, members of the U.S. Field Hockey National Team, helped Team USA earn a berth to the 2014 World Cup following a successful silver medal finish at the Pan American Cup in Mendoza, Argentina.
• The U.S. went 3-0 in group play and defeated Canada 4-0 in the semifinals.
• Team USA finished in second place with a 1-0 loss to host-Argentina to earn silver.
• Reinprecht tallied four goals and Sharkey had three over the tournament.
• Former Princeton assistant and current U.S. assistant coach Nate Franks '07 added to the Tiger representation at the tournament.
The Captains: Seniors Kelsey Byrne, Michelle Cesan and Julia Reinprecht will serve as tri-captains in 2013.

• Bedford, a state-of-the-art turf facility, features an optimal playing surface in artificial turf and a built-in watering system.

National Team News:
• Julia Reinprecht '14, a 2012 London Summer Olympian, competed with the U.S. Senior National Team at the World League Semifinals in London this summer.
• Michelle Cesan '14, a 2012 London Summer Olympics alternate, is a member of the U.S. Senior National Team.
• Teresa Benvenuti '16 was named to the U.S. Senior National Team this spring. She competed with the U21s at the Junior World Cup in Aug. 2013.
• Alums Katie Reinprecht '13 and Kathleen Sharkey '13 are also members of the senior national team, most recently being named to the U.S. Pan Am Cup roster.
• Former assistant coach Nate Franks '07 is on staff at USA Field Hockey.
Williamson Joins Coaching Staff:
• David Williamson joined the Tiger coaching staff as the team's goalkeeping coach in 2013.
• He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Ulster.
• He previously worked at Monmouth, Kent State, the Irish Hockey and U.S. Field Hockey associations.
A Look at Last Year:
• Katie Reinprecht '13 was named Princeton's first Honda Award Winner, along with garnering NFHCA and Mid-Atlantic Player of the Year and Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year honors.
• Kathleen Sharkey '13 led the nation in scoring and was named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year.
• Teresa Benvenuti '16 earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors.
• 10 Tigers were named All-Ivy and All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team selections.
