Newell Named ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week

ALBANY, N.Y. (11/19/13) - Princeton's Kimberly Newell was named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 19.
Newell went 1-0-1 against a pair of non-conference teams this weekend. She made 56 saves and allowed just two goals during the weekend as Princeton defeated UNH 3-1 and tied No. 5 Boston College 1-1. Newell stopped 24 shots Friday in the win over UNH, and 32 the next day against BC. Five of her saves came during the overtime session when the Eagles outshot Princeton 5-0.
The Tigers, now receiving votes in the USCHO.com poll, hosts No. 8 Clarkson and St. Lawrence this weekend, Nov. 22 & 23.
