McLean Named Regional Field Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS (3/4/13) - Junior Damon McLean from the Princeton men's track & field team has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Regional Field Athlete of the Year, the organization announced on Monday, March 4.
McLean was a double champion at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, winning both the triple and long jump. He was named the co-Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet. McLean jumped to 7.55 (24-9.25) in the long jump a new personal best that ranks him in the top 30 in the event. In his main event, the triple jump, McLean jumped to a personal best 15.93 (52-3.25) that ranks him 14th in the nation and qualifies him for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
