Martinez Receives Women?s Water Polo Tiger Award

Senior Laura Martinez of the Princeton women's water polo team was named the recipient of the program's Friends of Princeton Water Polo Tiger Award, it was announced Thursday.
The Tiger Award is presented annually to the individual who contributed most in play, sportsmanship and dedication to the Princeton women's water polo team. The award was first presented in 2000 and recent winners have included Natalie Kim (2008), Liz Dilday (2009), Helen Meigs (2010), Lauren Brunner (2011) and Audrey Zak (2012).
Martinez's role on the team developed greatly over her four-year career to be a consistent contributor off the bench. She has been part of consecutive Southern and Eastern championships and appearances in the NCAA Championship in 2012 and 2013. Over her career, she played in 92 games, amassing 40 steals, 18 goals, 14 assists and eight blocks.
