Women's Volleyball Falls 3-1 In Opener Of Bryant Invitational

Despite a combined 30 kills from Kendall Peterkin and Sarah Hanna, the Princeton women's volleyball team fell 3-1 to the host Bryant Bulldogs in the Tigers' opening match of the Bryant Invitational.
Princeton fell to 3-5 with the loss, though the Tigers can get back to .500 Saturday when it takes on UMass-Lowell (10 am) and Stony Brook (5 pm). Those will be Princeton's final two matches before Ivy League play begins Sept. 27 with a home match against Penn.
Peterkin led the Tigers with 19 kills in the 25-23, 25-23, 19-25, 25-22 loss to Butler, while Hanna had 11 kills and hit .259. Freshman Ellie Shannon added six kills and hit .357 for Princeton.
One major bright spot for Princeton was the play of junior middle Nicole Kincade, who returned from injury with eight kills, five blocks and four service aces. Freshman Lauren Miller had a team-high 32 assists, while sophomore Sarah Daschbach led the Tigers with 16 digs.
