SYDNEY KIRBY SENIOR HIGHLIGHTS
PRINCETON, N.J. – Sydney Kirby of the Princeton University field hockey team has been selected to play in the 2014 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game.
Featuring 38 of the nation's top seniors, the game is slated for 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the University of Maryland in College Park, Md. Kirby was one of four Ivy League student-athletes to be invited, joining Penn's Emily Corcoran, Dartmouth's Ali Savage and Columbia's Lauren Skudalski.
Currently tied for the team lead in points (14), Kirby has collected five goals and four assists in 15 appearances. Registering her first points of the year against No. 13 Virginia on Sept. 7, she matched a single-game career-high with two goals. After handing out an assist in a 2-1 triumph over American, she added two more scores against Yale on Sept. 27. Also finding the back of the opposing cage against Columbia, she registered three assists in a pair of outings against Brown and No. 4 UConn.
Bursting onto the scene as a freshman in 2011, she saw action in 16 games, posting 26 points on nine goals and eight assists. After tallying 21 points (9G, 3A) during her sophomore campaign, she had two goals and four assists last season. In 67 career appearances, she has amassed 25 goals and 19 assists.
Princeton returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Cornell University.
